Getting around the Bays Precinct just got easier!

On Demand is a new public transport service designed to improve connections to transport hubs and popular destinations near you – and now it’s being implemented on Sydney’s waterways.

How does it work?
Book your ferry trip in advance via the Tranzer app on Google Play or the App Store, or simply turn up to selected wharves in the service area and order a ferry on the spot. You’ll be picked up, zipped across the harbour and dropped where you need to go.

What areas are being serviced?
The On Demand ferry operates in the Bays Precinct between Barangaroo Wharf in Darling Harbour, Pirrama Park and Fish Market wharves in Pyrmont, and Blackwattle Bay Wharf in Glebe.

How much will it cost?
For each trip, adults will be charged $7.60 and concessions (including children and students) will be charged $3.80.

How can I pay? Is it Opal- or contactless-enabled?
You can pay through the Tranzer app or, if you book your trip from a kiosk, you can pay with your credit card once onboard the ferry.

When can I use it?
The On Demand ferry will operate from 7am to 10pm on weekdays (excluding public holidays), and 8.30am to 7.30pm on weekends and public holidays.

How many people can fit on the ferry?
The On Demand ferry has 45 seats and can carry 60 people.

Can I take my bike onboard?
Yes! On Demand ferries have bike storage facilities available, so feel free to cycle to and from the wharf.
